North Devon based holiday resort Stowford Village, has won a top accolade at this year’s Visit Devon Tourism Awards.
The family-friendly touring and motor-home site won Silver in the ‘Camping and Caravanning Park of the Year’ category, thanks to its superb rural location, variety of facilities, cleanliness, and commitment to ethical and sustainable practices, including having its own woodchip facility and recycling centre on-site.
The win comes after the resort has reported a 90% average occupancy for their holiday cottages this summer and an overall review score of 9.7 / 10.
Accounts Manager, Jo Smith, and Assistant General Manager, Sam Bowden, collected their prize at the ‘buzzing’ Awards ceremony, held at Quince Honey Farm in South Molton.
The event saw the cream of the Devon hospitality and leisure industry come together in the hope of not only winning on the night, but also to have the chance to progress on to the regional South West awards.
Sam said: “The entire industry is still feeling the after-effects of the pandemic. With businesses forced to close during lockdowns, many were unable to survive.
“At Stowford Village, we navigated this unforeseen period by responding quickly to changes in regulations and communicating these effectively while ensuring that the safety of our team members and customers was the highest priority.
Jo Added: “Winning this award has been such an honour, and it is down to the hard work our incredible team do on a daily basis. We look forward to welcoming our guests over the coming months for what will be a fantastic summer.”
CEO at RoyaleResorts, Robert Bull said: “Being recognised as a market leader is a huge achievement, and, as a relatively new player in the industry, it has taken a lot of work and dedication to earn the excellent reputation that we enjoy today.
“At RoyaleResorts, our strategy is to redefine what was once described as the old caravan or mobile home holiday. Our vision isn’t a one-size-fits-all policy. We understand that the rise in staycations will bring a new set of challenges, as more customers seek the perfect destination to suit their usual holiday wants and needs.
“Making our guests feel welcome and being attentive to their requirements is our priority. Our resorts are designed to the highest specification, and we are constantly reacting to the wishes of our customers. This award has been the icing on the cake after an incredible year of hard work.”
Touring pitches at Stowford Village start from £24.50 per night including electricity. Caravan Storage and seasonal pitches are also available. The site is also dog friendly.
